Most unrealistic film I have seen.

Before I started watching I thought how unrealistic, after 5 years of marriage they would have at least been to each other's work at least once, met work friends, talked about work, seen pay details, or had a work party. Part of being married is having somebody to come home to and talk about your day. I thought maybe the film would explain my concerns, but it made them even worse. It's the most unrealistic film I ever watched.
The shoot out in the house was ridiculous, two supposedly successful assassins couldn't manage to kill each other in their own house.

i think superman was more unrealistic, any way you should watch this movie as pure metaphor of marriage life, actually if you saw the theatrical version, bardelina were breaking the fourth wall and smiling to the camera. very unprofessional. but i guess their real life story which was very hot when the film came out justified it for the director.

Well, it was a fantasy...or scifi..or any of those types of movie...you just had to go along for the ride...and it was really funny...and sexy.

They didn't simply because they didn't want to. If you're living a secret life away from home and you start asking your spouse too many questions, you're likely to get a few thrown back at you. To continue their lifestyles it was necessary to not provoke interest in their secret lives.

Not too unrealistic for me. My wife of 23 years wanted to keep me away from her work, and did not want me to meet her work mates. Out of the jobs she had over the years, there were only two workplaces I got to go to. One was to bring her food, and the other was to pick up her check. Since I trusted her completely, I did not care. Other than having my curiosity thwarted. Our marriage only ended when she passed away in her sleep. So her secretiveness was not a deal-breaker.

Of course, I would not have wanted to violate her trust, since she was the trained martial artist and expert marksman of the family.

I know this is a late reply but I'm so sorry for your loss. 23 years is something very special and seems to be a rare that my these days.

I hope you don't mind my mild curiosity, but you mentioned she excelled in certain areas... did you ever find out if they had anything to do with the jobs she had and perhaps that's why she couldn't tell you about them? I hope you don't mind my curiosity, I'm just always fascinated with people who have jobs like that... government type jobs, CIA or things that they cannot tell people about. I always wondered myself and discuss with my husband and he can't how people get into those types of positions in the first place. I myself if thought it were possible would've loved to of been involved in something like that when I was younger. I just find something very fascinating and intriguing about having such an important yet secretive job that only you can know about.

There are parts of three jobs, including an entire company, that my wife only knows of as in I got paid. And we both have degrees in the same field. And that's just the way it always will be.

At parties we have the "shop talk jar". It used to be a quarter. Now it's a dollar. Charities love it when we have parties.

It's just a fun movie. It's not supposed to be realistic.

reply

Yes, and even though I expected it going into the movie, it didn't help me to like it any more than I would have otherwise. Stupid, ego project. Would expect better from Pitt.

I think in the case of this kind of movie, it's more symbolic than realistic.
