NO.
I didn't like the animation, for a start - but maybe my problem is that it's cartoon-y as opposed to realistic, which is fair enough. That's just a personal problem I had with it.
Another problem - Alex. Maybe the problem is that there wasn't really a main character, but it seemed like he was shoved to the forefront when it wasn't even really his story. Not the way I saw it anyway - after all, the whole story seemed to be about Marty's wish to be free or whatever and his realisation that he didn't need to as long as he had his friends. Cheesy message aside, bearing that in mind, Alex was far too overexposed. An alternative view could be it was Alex's story (being forced to leave his old life, wanting to go back but being stranded, realising it didn't matter as long as he had his friends) - but firstly, the fact that he immediately chose to return to New York showed his character hadn't actually developed at all (and so he was a pathetic protagonist) and secondly, he was extremely dislikeable as a main character in my opinion. Ben Stiller did not help this problem.
Anyway, I have written far, far more than I needed to. The good points - I loved the penguins. They were seriously the best part of this movie. I also quite liked King Julian, although he wasn't as enjoyable as the penguins. Overall, it wasn't that bad for a Dreamworks movie (I'm not a fan of Dreamworks) but I wouldn't willingly watch it again.
