So I'm just wondering- how many kids are in your families? Do you like the show because it is just like your house or because it is the exact opposite?
I am actually the fourth of twelve children, and I love Cheaper by the Dozen because my family is a lot like the Bakers, and is hilarious to watch them and know that we are just like them most of the time.
i've always thought my family was quite big and a rare size, but wow compared to some ppl its quite small. i'm one of seven.
james milli liz annie dan emma (twin) ashley --> me (twin)
im a non-identical twin, and the younger one. and emma is always like yeah im 7 mins older than you - it sucks.
id love to have even more siblings but considering that im 15, i dont think its likely. i love watching cheaper by the dozen cos its kinda like my family, and mums always so stressed cos she has to do so much.
It's just me and my sister and parents, but it pretty much seems like I have my own house except I don't have to pay anything, because I'm really the only one whose ever home. That's why I like the movie, because the chaos looks like fun.
O.K., so I have nothing to do, so I am going to name off everybody in my family:
Mom's side:
Tony- mom's oldest brother and Laura Tony's wife with Christopher(9), Mitchel(6) and Brooke(2) Scott- mom's other brother and Katie- Scott's wife with Paige(12), Ryan(10), Alyssa(9) and Cole(6) Stacy- mom's sister and Tim- Stacy's husband with Justin(16), James(14), Jessie(15), Jacob(11), Jill(8), Julie(5) and Jack(3)
Dad's side:
Lisa- dad's only and oldest sister and Peter- her second husband with Kevin(25) and Tyler(20) Mark- dad's brother and Carolyn- Mark's wife with Abby(14) (Mike's daughter) and Anna(9) Anthony- dad's brother and Megan- Anthony's's wife with Andrea(20) and Nicholas(17) Richard- dad's brother Ken- dad's brother and Beth- Ken's wife with Patrick(11) and Daniel(10) Dan- dad's youngest brother and Denise- Dan's "girlfriend" they're aren't married, but they live together with Denise's daughter Joana(35) and her kids Elise(5) and Roy(3)
Then my family: Brian- dad- 2nd oldest in his family Kathy- mom- oldest in her family Jason(24) Jenna(21) Bryon(19) Mike(16) Alex(15) Kelly(13) Casey(11) Kally(10) ME!!! Well Jason, Jenna and Bryon are at colage. Jason is coming home next week and Jenna and Bryon are coming home in a couple of weeks after they stay with some friends. Being the baby has it's advantages and disadvantages. I love all of my siblings and they are all very protective of me. Being the youngest is fun, but I miss out on a lot of things. And, most of the time, I'm only with half of my siblings!! Well not really. We get together often!! All of us!!
When my mom's side is over, there are 22 kids running around (if everyone can make it!!)
When my dad's side comes over there are 18 kids(again, if they all come)!!!
Here's my family: Polly-(mom) 62 Hal (dad) 66 Sheila (34) SUsan and Sylvia (31) Shevon (28) Shana (25) Sheena (24) Hal (21) Ken (20 tommorrow) Sarah (me) 17
Then Sheila has 3 kids: Ricky (10), Ashley (9 on the 31st) and Jake (7) Susan has 2 kids; Alex (8) and Connor (1) Shevon has one kid:Lexi (1 on the 18th) Sheena has 2 1/2 kids: Kaitlyn 9, Kaia 5, and she's expecting another little girl in March.
My mom has 8 brothers and sister and they all have atleast 5 kids who all have atleast 3 kids, so way too many to name, but my dad was an only child.
Wow. I have a lot fewer siblings than a lot of people here; not something I see a lot in my daily life
The kids in my family all start with J.
Jay (that's me ) Jenny JoAnn
Sometime what happens, because our names all start with 'J', is when my mom calls one of us, she has to go through all our names before she gets to the right one She'd go "Jay! No, Jenny! No, wait, JoAnn!!!"
Come to think about it, my parent's have some siblings.
My dad's the fourth among 6. My mom is the youngest among 3. And everyone has at least two kids except one of my aunts on my father's side. So.. crazy
someone up there ^ was talking aout how it sounds like alot of these are made up... i agree. notice how alot of these people are twins and most have very unique names... alot of them sound like fantasies really. no offence ment to anyone.
Nicola (me) 21 Rachel 19 (married) Ryan 17 Jimmy (James) 14 Harry 13
My nan had 8 Leslie 44 Amanda 43 Caroline (mum) 41 Tara 39 Maxine 37 Allan 30 Gary & Mark 28 (identical twins who are naturally ginger and are very hyperactive so quite like Nigel & Kyle)
I have 12. I had them with different mothers, but I have full custody of them (my wife has adopted 6 of the 8 that aren't hers) and I am the one that gets to care and provide for them.
That being said I have 3 sets of "twins" (months apart, different mothers obviously but you'd be surprised at some of the questions I get).
Naomi - 9 (April '99) Harmony - 9 (Jan '00) Loralee (Rory) - 7 (Jul '01) Wendy (Wednesday) - 7 (Dec '01) Zackary (Zack) - 5 (Mar '03) Jesse - 4 (Feb '04, Naomi's full brother) Katy - 4 (May '04) Indie - 3 (Jun '05, first with now-wife) Timothy (Timmy) - 3 (Aug '05) Brady - 2 (Sept '06, Indie's full brother) Ramsey - 1 (Oct '07, Indie and Brady's full brother) Miley - 3 months (Nov '08, Indie, Brady, and Ramsey's full sister)
The kids named Miley. I picked Cirrie, but whatever. She can change it later if she hates it. Cirrie is her middle name and she can always go by that too.
Yes, I have kids in every month. It just kinda happened like that (I wasn't exactly trying to plan when I started at the age of 16) up until I was with my wife, then we figured that since we wanted a large family anyway, it'd be cool if we planned to have a child in each month. That was more of a "her" thing she wanted to try and it's not like it's that hard to do anyway.
We like the movie because it reminds us of how we are, and how it's going to get crazier as the kids get older, but it's also just a cheesy reminder of how it's great to have a large family that will always be there for you too.
As for some of these people lying about how many siblings, that's just stupid. What a stupid thing to lie about.
As for crazy names, I guess it's possible, since people are getting "more unique" with the names they choose, so okay.
As for twins named Dylan and Cole, I guess that would depend on how old the twins in question are, if the siblings had a hand in naming them, the ages of the siblings, etc. I made that mistake with Miley obviously. I let the kids pick out Ramsey's middle name (Oliver-Corbin), but when I said they could name Miley, I said "use Cirrie" instead of making myself crystal clear that Cirrie was to be her first name. Oh well, it's a good thing we're done having kids.
Theres four of us, I'm the third. Where I live most families only have one or two children so I often hear remarks like "Didn't your parents have a TV back then?" even though I wouldn't personally consider four kids as a large family alot of people where I live do.
There are 11 girls and 3 boys in my family; no twins or adoptions. My one sister (born a year before me) died at birth but everyone else (mom and dad included) are alive. I'm the 10th child and am the oldest living at home so most of my siblings have moved out (all but four). I honestly don't feel there is much to compare (other than the size) to the Baker family. I guess when my nieces and nephews are around, things can be as loud and rowdy as the Bakers can get but that's about it. (I have 13 nieces and nephews and no grandparents).
