Anne Hathaway killed the movie!

I was really looking forward to watching this movie...but right when it started I felt alittle...awkward watching.

Anne Hathaway is a great actress - and I love her and have nothing against her, but her voiceover for the english dub was NOT good. The character of Haru and her voice and expressions just didn't match! And the movie itself annoyed me cause it was so rushed and not long enough.

Ahhhhh. Whyyy?! They could've made it at LEAST 20 minutes longer. Could've elaborated and took their time on some scenes in the movie. The plot was like:

haru saves cat
cat finds haru
haru is in castle
haru gets rescued
haru says bye

ELABORATION!!! !?!?!

I actually like the length. Some movies should just not be as long. Take a myth...a myth doesn't mess around...it gets right to the point without much development(except more modern epics). In purely imaginative art it isn't always necessary for much character development or a 20 minute fight scene, etc. And I thought Anne Hathaway was fine. I sense your not doing this but I really can't stand people getting on here and always slamming the dub and all American film in general. It's a form of aggression to pump up yourself and whatever country you live in. Like I said I know your not doing it but really you never hear an American say anything bad about the Japanese on these boards even though there is really quiet a bit to poke fun at on either side. So in summary...I wish people would stop always saying something bad about the American voice actors. It's pretty difficult to do this and obviously the people involved thought these anime were very important to go through all the trouble considering not much money is made on most of these dub movies. The only dub off the top of my head that really killed a movie was Kiki's deliver service and that was because they kept on talking through the meditative scenes..oh yeah...and the cat voice. princess mononoke was kinda off too.
