Help me understand this. This movie has an average score of 8.4 with aprox. 8,400 votes. Now take Sherlock Jr. for instance - that movie has an average score of 8.4 as well, but with significantly fewer votes (aprox. 7,000). Given that, shouldn't this movie be scoring higher overall than Sherlock Jr.? Why is it that this movie is out of the top 250 list, and f.i. Sherlock Jr. is in?

And it is an Italian movie,so you can imagine how many people see it.
If it's TV Mini-Series separated into 6 episodes,I believe much more people will see it and feel it.
Easy answe = Hollywood politics. They would never give a top ranking to a film that had obscure actors. Instead, Shawshank redemption which is a fine film is top rated but not as good as this.
This film has superb acting and very real and intense characters. It's divine.
