Does Mars remind you of.....

Just watched this for the first time today. Mars immediately reminded me of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Did anyone else think about them while watching this movie. The evil in his eyes was sooooo creepy!

No, but he reminds me of that Frederick guy in "In Plain Sight"...for a minute I thought it was actually him!

In one of the first scenes where he has that evil look, I imagined him as being someone who could portray "the Crow" (Brandon Lee's movie).

His slow motion walk with the Molotov cocktails in each hand reminded me of the cover for the movie The Crow.

I think there was a part in the movie where the cops were talking about Mars' history. It was something like he saw his dad kill his mom and then commit suicide, and I think he grew up in foster care or something? So yeah, pretty dysfunctional and messed up.

Mars is straight from the 90's as far movies goes.
He is the weird, somewhat slow responsive, "stare into nothing" long haired drugs and rock and roll villain.

I think this is the charm of Hostage, the movie is pure 90s.

no. klebold and harrie were rich spoiled ninny bratz. mars was really gritty and crazy. not defending what he did, but he was really nuts because of a bad past.

I've been saying it for years. And if a biopic was ever made for him, Ben Foster should DEFINITELY play him. This movie really did it for me. And that man is... CM PUNK!!!
