The Queen Bee popular kid

I definitely knew no less than five of those girls in my class. With the exception of the hottest one, they all ended up having twisted lives after high school and college. Pretty hilarious.

Yep. I went to over 8+ different schools growing up and there was always a queen bee with her little bee followers. Every single one even the private schools. I was in school in the 80s & 90s. I'm about the same age as this main character. I actually have her exact bedroom furniture which is in my oldest daughters bedroom now.

Groups like this is also found in some work places too. A few friends of mine who work in offices say there are groups like this too. They can be men or women.

I'm active in church and believe it or not some churches have women like this.

It depends how old you are. The 80's and 90's were very well known for bratty and snobby popular kids. I know my entire school career was full of them.

Now though, being accepting, awkward, and chill is more "in style." Kind of like 21 jump street (the Jonah hill/Channing Tatum version) where they go to school nowadays expecting to run into super mean jocks but instead, meet tree hugging, world saving, smart, musically talented hipsters. Lol.

Oh, also, it depends on whether you're a guy or girl. Girls seem to be way more bitchy and sometimes younger guys can be blind to their true ways...especially if they are deemed "hot."

There wasn't one at my high school.

there was a 'popular' clique in my high school, but those girls were super sweet and friends with everyone. maybe they didn't hang out with everyone, but they never walked down the halls insulting people and pranking people less popular.

Actually, in real life, unless it's a small school; most high schools have several Queen Bees, rather than just one. In fact, the power-play is so fluid, it's hard to tell who will be at the top at any time (especially if you're not one of them), but one thing they all have in common is, they often hang out together in one big circle, with a gigantic network of friends that are spread all over the school. It should also be noted that they are not all white, blond girls, and not all of them are cheerleaders.

If we had a queen bee, I don't recall it. Our graduating class was 337. Maybe in smaller schools you may have that.
