I am looking for movies that leave an ache in your soul similar to this movie. Movies like Lost in Translation in regards to the characters isolation and loneliness that sets the tone for the movie. It is just breathtakingly beautiful and I was wondering is there similar movies to Lost in Translation?

Thanks for your help.

There is only a split second between existing and being a mere memory.

The Station Agent
Lars and the Real Girl
Pieces of April
Winter Passing
In America
Winter's Bone (much darker and violent)
While You Were Sleeping (lighter and funnier, but still poignant)

I agree with these ones that have been recommended by other people.

Her
Like Crazy
Somewhere
Up in the Air
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Anyone notice what the first 3 movies at the top have in common?

I can't believe no one has yet mentioned "10 Items or Less" from 2006, with Morgan Freeman and Paz Vega, because it's the same plot translated to a Latino community in Los Angeles (the girl is even named Scarlet, after Johansson. Which isn't to suggest that it's EXACTLY the same. The characters are totally different plus other nuances; it's less melancholy, for instance, largely due to Freeman's chirpy character. Nevertheless, if you liked "Lost in Translation" you'll definitely like "10 Items or Less."
