I thought he was hilarious, although I will agree that his swearing was a bit much.
Having not seen the movie in years, I still remember this line, "You brought your b!tch to the Waffle Hut?!" Just about everytime I go to the Waffle House (I live in the South), I think of that line. lol!
I laughed so hard when he said that! But I agree with the swearing, it was a little too much, but I don't think he ruined the film. He just took some of the class away..

Marlon didn't have anything to do with the swearing. That beef would be with the Coens. And if you think that it was improvised, the Coens don't really allow improvisation in their films.

so in that case- all the over use / number of times or just the curse words are IN the script and the book? I don't think that is the case- and doesn't that make it adlibbing or improvising by definition? I don't see what he brought to the movie other than a name to sell the movie.

In "The Big Lebowski", the script contained all the usages of the words "um" and "like" that Jeff Bridges says in the film... so yes, the Coen brothers WOULD put all the "over use/number of times" IN the script, because they're artists who know what they want.

Honestly, my only problem with the swearing is that I can't share this great movie with my mother whom I know would LOVE the southern setting, gospel music and of course, Mrs. Munson.

So "walternate" why do you think IMDB would censor you? I see the words you would't write in posts all over this site. When you see censorship it is the poster censoring his/her self. IMDB deletes the whole post when someone crosses the line into unaccecptable. Words themself are not "censorable"but the way some posters put them together.

To walternate; Well excuuuuuuuuuse meeeeeeeeeee for confusing this site with another I was on that night. Also as to the two year old post. Had just finshed watching the movie on TV and was intrested in what others had to say. How ever I see no reason to be nasty. But since you opened the door I say fornacate thyself and try try geting outside and away from the internet for a day. The real world may,just may,show you it's OK to let others know they made a mistake without such venom & automatic hatered. Now then I'm sure you'll have another nasty attack,how ever I'll miss it because I'm going for a nice long ride on my scooter. Right after I put you on my ignore list.
