Shane's Appeal?

Here is some made-up phone antidotes about Shane and her conquests. Shane, pushing 40, tries to look up various women that she had sexual relations in high school... and never called again.

Shane:
"Come on Lois, I know it's been 20 years since I promised to call you. I'm calling you now. Now listen, this is a long-distance toll call to where you live in BC, Canada, so let me get right to the point. Remember the night in the back seat of my car during our senior year? How was I?"
[pause]
"I knew it! I was really good?"
[pause]
"What kind of car am I driving now? Uh... I'll call you later. Bye!"

(Shane makes another phone call)

Shane:
"Can I speak to Carla Fisher?"
[pause]
"Oh, she's Carla O'Connor now? Uh-hm. Are you her husband?"
[pause]
"I see. Well... my name is Shane McCutcheon. I used to go to high school with Carla. Could you do me a favor? Could you ask her when she gets in that if she meant it when she said that she's had them all, but I was the best?
[pause]
"What do you mean she's there? You just told me that she can't come to the phone right now... oh, she's breast-feeding your newborn baby? Hey, that brings back memories!"
[pause]
"Uh... never mind! Forget I called! Bye!"


(Shane makes another phone call)

Shane:
.... "So I was great? The best! Of all the girls and guys you did in high school, I was the best sex you ever had?! Oh, come on now... you're making me blush! Well, thank you very much for your time, Sister Mary Ignatius."

She is interesting as a person

I don't understand it either. Actually I "do" see her appeal and I like her character, but when every woman/girl wants her and she seems to bed everyone, it became old really fast. No one, no matter how beautiful, sexy or whatever can have that many people just throw themselves at you. It was pretty fake.

Yeah, I totally get it. Confidence is the #1 reason chicks swoon over her, as would I. But it's also the sexy rocker hair, tight jaw line, how she looks people right in the eye - very engaging, answers questions directly, avoids drama, is pretty zen about stuff, beautiful eyes, sexy abs, a million dollar smile, dresses cool...

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.....

If she asked me out, for any purpose, for any length of time, I'd say HELL YEAH! Then, in 15 minutes, I'd fall in love and get my heart broken, but damn, what a great 15 minutes.

Shane has beautiful features and can be very charming. Her masculine bodylanguage appeals to straight women and women who like butch or androgynous women. The actress also has a huge following including straight women wanting her.

I think its because she is hot and kind of crosses over with straight girls. I personally thought she looked her best in season 6 and 5. Im not into girls but I could even be into Shane. Like people said she is androgynous she has this pretty but hot thing going on. She is confident which is always great. She has very expressive features. Some of the girls compared her to a boy saying she was like a boy and she was like no I'm a girl. I think it was kind of the same thing with Papi. She had so much confidence the ladies flock to her.

Also women love a bad boy/girl fixer uper. Personally I don't care as much but it draws women in. They want bad girl Shane but they also want to be the one who fixes her.

I actually saw Young Americans first and always thought Katherine was pretty there but at the same time had a cute tomboy thing going on. It works for her.

I think Kristen Stewart and Kate resemble each other. Both have a pretty good lesbian following too lol. I think it's the swagger/confidence and don't give a s--- attitude. Also the androgony and I guess tomboyish look from Stewart. Shane is a bad boy too as someone said, and many people succumb to those individuals.

Personally I have never found Shane super hot but she's not my type at all. Kate is actually pretty though. I'm also not huge on Shane's dating habits. They are actually toxic quite often, as seen by how many girls she has pissed off. Shane doesn't know how to commit, and also loves to self sabotage relationships. She also doesn't think when it comes to sex at all. Like why screw someone in the apartment complex knowing you are committing to live there with your girlfriend?? Probably not smart to start drama with other women in the complex. Or why sleep with Niki?! That was probably the worst as it was a huge betrayal to Jenny and just a jerk move. Shane is a nice person. But she's one of the less interesting characters to me (just tend to get bored with her storylines) and she's the least appealing of the main lesbian girls to me (but that does have more to do with her just not being my type).
