this film was great fun, a real joy to watch, and harisson ford hasnt been better fr years, some good action, funny dialogue,what is there not to like. along with 2fast2furious,last action hero and the avengers, these are some of the most underated movies by both critics and box office receipts.

shareWow, indeed, I can NOT believe it, Ebert gives this 3 out of 4 stars, he must have slept through it and woken up relieved or I have no idea why !!?? Cose the movie would indeed fit in his "Why I HATE HATE HATE this movie"-book.
My opinion is: "Smash your big toe with a hammer and watch it swell up, I'm positive that would be more entertaining than this."
I wish this line would be mine, I just found it in sb. elses comment on this movie and I laughed harder about it than anything in this picture ! (it is supposed to be comedy, is it ?)
I think the storyline is WEAK (that´s polite), the acting is at best average (Harrison merely walsk through this, but he is right in doing so), I didn´t have any lough nor chuckle, the photography comes right out of a TV-movie = below average, for an expensive A-production it is dreadful.
I do RESPECT your opinion (every movie has its followers), but this was pain FOR ME to watch (well, after some time I did other things aside anyway, I just wanted to see if it would get better later, but it didn´t).
Sorry, I really wish I could say better things about it, but I can´t. :-(
I enjoyed this film for the most part, though I couldn't get past the idea that Harrison Ford was miscast...for some reason, I kept picturing Mel Gibson in his role.

Harrison and Josh's chemistry was a pleasure to watch, they both were very funny (Harrison was, of course, funnier). Lots and lots of great dialogue, in my opinion. Sure, the storyline wasn't the most unique, but who cares?

I have to agree with the OP. The director and screenwriter were making fun of audience expectations, most of the audience were just to stupid to realize it.
For a buddy-cop movie, this movie took some refreshing twists. The beginning eschews melodramatic exposition for slapstick. The end sucessfully skewers action movie cliches.
For example, when Josh tries to land on the gift cart he gets hurt like any normal person would. Harrison Ford tries to comandeer a car and the guy tells him to get lost, leading to him riding a pink bike after the bad guy. And at the end, just when you think Ford is setup for the perfect "Just taking out the trash" punchline, he just shrugs and says 'aw forget it'
OMG this was the worst movie I may have ever seen. I absolutely love Harrison Ford, but this was not one of his better choices in roles. Very hard to watch; I turned it off before it even ended.

since I mention this movie frequently, as my reference for worst movies of all time...I know its relative to the viewer, and there are so many horrible movies out there, but when I watched this a couple years ago I KNEW nothing could ever top it for 1st place alltime worst movie ever..Words can't describe my repulsion for this film..So when I see "Snake King", or assault on precinct 13" lol, my comparison for how bad they are inevitably is drawn right to this film.
No matter how bad the next movie I see is, it could only tie but never beat Hollywood Homicide in the bottom 5 of alltime!! (yes IMHO!)...

i read the first page and decided to post...
the movie was hilarious, caught by suprise...
i mean i thought the movie was average, but then my parents rented it out one night, and i caught up with it from the chase scene, and i laughed out loud with the whole humorous and sarcastic scene... i dont know how to explain it, but i turned to my mum and said thats pretty realistic, like a guy would joke or act like that if the situation ever ocurred...
then started watching from the beginning, and i thought it was a fun movie... keyword fun, no award winner, money winner, but for the sake of fun, it was awesome...
Agreed. The current IMDB rating is way too low. This movie was a lot of fun, it's a 7 in my book.
Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)
It was ok, nothing special. Mildly amusing and entertaining.
