The events of Jason X take place after this so Jason riser again but Freddy was never heard from again.

Yes. However, it was more of a temp victory, as I have no doubt they'd resurrect Freddy again had they been able to get a sequel off the ground.

Even though it isn't part of the movie there is an alternate ending that was on the 2 disc DVD set that has Freddy impersonating Will in Lori's wet dream. Then his finger knives come out of his hands and kill her. So they filmed an ending where Freddy wins but didn't use it.
