Tony Scott's Visual Effects...

Watched this movie again just recently, I couldn't help but notice just how annoying Tony Scott's effects were in the movie. I loved the movie, but I feel the effects detracted from the film if anything.

Feel the same. Visual effects may be somewhat cutting-the-edge at that time but it is quite outdated today.

Yea I am watching it now and the torture scene in the car is seizure inducing, not good.

I disagree. I would say the effects added to the mood of the scenes. This movie is one of my all-time favorites, and Tony Scott is my favorite director.

I thought the effects were quite well done, I really liked Scott's visual style. RIP Tony!

Seems like a “love it or hate it” thing. I’m more in the “hate it” camp.

I don’t know, they kinda fit well in certain spots like where Creasy is having a memory flashback.

A very good film that had the potential to be a great film, but I have to agree with the OP the visual effects were not pleasing to say the least. That’s really my only complaint about the film.
