Cruise's best film

It's an okay movie.

I think he's done some other good films though.

The first movie I saw him in that made me think he was not just another Hollywood Pretty Boy was Rain Man. His next film, Born on the Fourth of July, blew me away.

Recently I saw Taps again. I remembered his role, but not that he played it. He brought an intensity to it that in hindsight one could say was a very early indication that this guy could act if given the chance...

All the movie's I have seen with Tom Cruise, this one is the best.

Hes a decent actor, but he just gets too cocky sometimes. He was very mature in this movie and it turned out very well I think.

I've tried to avoid Tom Cruise movies up to now. This has changed my mind.

Me too, I usually hate the movie just for having Cruise as the star. But this movie is just so damn perfect, I forget it is Cruise once the movie begins. And to be fair he does act very well in this one.

It is my favourite Tom Cruise movie by far (2nd is Minority Report 3rd Enterview with the Vampire).

I like it when people say "enough said". That way I'm guaranteed not to have to listen to anymore of their drivel.

Clearly no one has seen him in Magnolia. That's one of his finest performances, if not his finest. The last Samarai is definately a close second

He was fantastic in Magnolia :)

Well I'm glad to spare you more of an opinion stated on a message board created for exactly that purpose or as you say drivel. Who ever forces you to read these posts should be shot!

^This. It’s also usually all they can think of.

He's had some excellent performances in his career, including this one. Have to go with Born on the Fourth of July as his finest, and being directed by Oliver Stone took him to an even higher level. Anthony Hopkins once said that Stone believes in taking actors out of their comfort zone.
