Why didn’t he just call her?

I’m aware that Wicker Park is a remake to a French film in the 1990’s so are we to assume that Wicker Park is also set in the 90’s which would excuse the lack of communication by mobile phones?

If not and this movie takes place in the present day why didn’t Josh Hartnett or Diane Kruger simply just call one another. They had each others cell numbers if I remember correctly. I feel like they didn’t try hard another if they really loved each other.

How is it that it took them two years to rekindle? Did the writers think that the audience are idiots with this obvious communication blunder.

Fuck that film is 20 years old! Man times flies.

Thanks for contributing to the topic!

Could have been a emp knocked out all comms.

Very sound and plausible theory.

Just watch the original. L’appartement (The Apartment). It will answer all your questions. It is the better film and it’s a fantastic movie.

It is a huge plot hole that baffled me also. They should have backed it up a few years so that nobody had cellphones; makes no sense. Or email? Something?

I'm guessing that you are a male human and that your reasoning comes from logic. This is a classic "should I/shouldn't I" dilemma for the female audience. A bad attempt at creating tension and drama.

No, strike that - this is a bad attempt at americanizing European drama and trying to sneak a happy ending into it.
