9/10 from me. One of the best remakes I've seen, though not quite as great as the original. R. Lee Ermy was a great addition to the chainsaw franchise.

The writing is questionable (honestly it is in most horror movies), but I always thought this film had exceptional performances and atmosphere for he genre. I don't even care for Biel but this is easily her best work.

shareTo preface I'm a huge fan of old horror. And enjoy bloody/violent and dark horror in particular. That said this is a slashed film pure and simple. Its not scream so its foolish to scrutinize it closely. It delivers on its goals of dumb teens get hacked. Its one of the best remakes even now. And I prefer it to the very dated original,in its day it was a triumph but quickly was surpassed by many others. Its short, low action and simply boring even to me. This remake was much more watchable.
