Other movies like City of God?
This is by far my favorite movie of all time and I've seen it 5+ times! I am looking for other movies like it.
So far I have seen City of Men and Elite Squad (plus its sequel)
Any suggestions?

There's a Brazilian film called "Pixote" made in 1980 it follows an 11 year old orphan called Pixote and his friends as they escape the abuse, torment of a corrupt orphanage only to face an even ugly more dangerous reality on the streets of São Paulo.
It's one of the saddest, disturbing , harrowing, brutal and tragic films I've ever seen a raw depiction of Brazilian street kids and street crime in general , this movie downed my whole day after watching it.
"The stuff that dreams are made of."
Some people are saying menace to society but to me the only thing they have in common is the violence. A better film is Paid in Full because it deals with the drug game and has an actual story. Menace to society is still a great movie, it just doesn't have a complete story like City of God in my opinion.
shareCarandiru another brazilian film that was based in real facts. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0293007/
The Constant Gardener from the same director of city of god Fernando Meirelles.

Depends on what exactly you're looking for. If you want a film about violence very close to reality, almost documentary-like (which "City of God" is) you might want to go back a few years for a really great one in this respect, "The Battle of Algiers".
