Guy with crush on Kiera....

In the movie, she's flattered and thinks how romantic, when she watches the video he cut of just her?

In real life she'd know what he's been doing whilst watching that video, and feel violated and a little scared.

What do you Ladies think??

reply

It's only scary if the guy is ugly.

Duh. Ha

This ^^
If the guy is good looking, girls think "wow he pulled a Humphrey Bogart from Casablanca on me" and be flattered. Otherwise, he is pervert.

reply

lol I agree with above....if he was a slimy unappealing sort of bloke then a girl might consider pressing charges

but this is Egg from This Life!! I would be immensely flattered

reply

Yes, but he IS unappealing. He is a loser letch who was creepy and secretly filmed his best friend's wife when she didn't know it. He then made up a bunch of I Love You cards and put on a show at said best friends doorway. That is spooky creepy, and in real life, Keira shold be frightened of this psycho, not run after and kiss him.

reply

I don't correlate at all that he took the video for sexual purposes.

You can tell by all the facial close-ups he did, it was done for love.

reply

Love? He barely knew her, never talked to her as she pointed out. Just because he was infatuated with her face rather than her breasts or some other explicitly sexual body part doesn't make it any less superficial. The bottom line is that it's only considered ok because he's attractive by superficial people.

reply

"he was infatuated with her face rather than her breasts"

What breasts?

reply

I totally agree with you. His camera work did not focus on her body ~~ he focused on her luminous face. And his face and hers while they watched the wedding video together ~~ well, nothing looked like lust to me, although a variety of deeper emotions were excellently portrayed facially by both actors.

And I have to add: this was the first time that I saw Keira Knightley in anything, and I thought that she was just incredibly beautiful! Since then, although I've admired her acting in other films, I think that she has never looked as gorgeous as she did in "Love Actually."

Plus, he's Rick f'ing Grimes.

I think people need to use common sense to make the distinction between dangerous guy and guy with a crush.
She knows this guy and they aren't taken of her private moments. They were the moments he was suppose to be filming anyway...just sans her new hubby..
I think most girls would be flattered unless the guy really was stalking her and had all kinds of prying private moments on the tape. That's not what it was.

It was also probably nice to find out that her husbands best friend didn't hate her after all.

He shows up at her door, uninvited, to give her a message he wants kept secret from her brand new husband, about him being in love with her. Yeah, no red flags there.

Did she go through all his stuff?

Was there no other tape?

reply

Umm "guy"? That's Rick Grimes, how dare you.

Just kidding.

reply

i wouldn't feel scared, but i would be embarrassed. i would realise he was attracted to me, and that would make it awkward, him being my husband's best friend. i suppose i would be a little flattered as well though, that he made a whole video just of me.

What do I think? I think that what scares me the most is your insinuation and your vivid imagination, ewww. You think he was jerking off to the video? I don't. Not everything is about sex.

reply

Well we don't see her immediate reactions to it. She just is shocked, says "they're all of me" and he bolts before we can see what she's really thinking of it. The next time she sees him is a couple of weeks later when she's had time to process the information.

Mark isn't some stranger to her. He's her husband's best friend. Even if they haven't spent that much time together, she knows him - Peter probably talks about him all the time. She's probably guessed exactly what the situation is: Mark has feelings for her but he keeps a distance out of respect for his friendship with Peter. And when she sees him next, he's telling her that he's trying to move on and won't overstep his boundaries.
