Caruso's career

Do you think Caruso will ever star in another movie or TV-show? It's probably not very likely he'll star in a different show, but maybe a movie? Or is CSI: Miami the end of his career?

He was good in First Blood

Fast forward to 2015 and so far his career ended when CSI Miami did. Not that this is a bad thing since he makes a mannequin seem to be a Classically Trained actor in comparison.

I don't think he is a bad actor. I am sure this show has been a parody all along! The on and off with the glasses, all the shots with him standing sideways, head down toward the camera, and the glib comments: "Take him..."

That goes for the other characters as well although they aren't as over the top as Caruso... He is supposed to be as someone said, "like Captain Kirk". For example, the women running after suspects, guns drawn, wearing 4" heels! Hysterical!

This show was never written to be taken seriously. That is what makes it a bit fun! I will bet just about anything that CSI Miami is written to be an over the top parody, with David Caruso being the most humorous of all of them!

Although watching is hilarious, the real punchline about the women in 4" high heels, gun drawn, waddling over rough terrain chasing a fit, trim suspect in running shoes is that they catch them.

Since just walking down a perfectly level and smooth runway can be dangerous for experienced models, I always wondered if they risked the actresses getting sprained or broken ankles or if they used stunt doubles in the chase scenes. Maybe the reason they all wore bellbottoms was to cover their ankle braces. How many shots do you suppose were ruined when the actress went down?

Caruso is in his sixties and looks like he's in his seventies-early eighties, he might fit into some kind of "Mr. Marple" kind of role (if he's physically able), but I imagine (and hope) he's going to just enjoy life and live off the well deserved rewards of a long, successful, well-paid acting career with his family and friends.

He very much deserves it for making my (and hopefully our) lives so much richer through his untiring efforts to act and bring stories to life using movies and TV as a method, not a media.
