Seems like the trolls have won. This really sucks, even boards I don't post on I still like reading the threads.

Reddit/thebachelor is pretty active. Obviously the average age is a lot younger than on IMDB, but it doesn't seem too bad a subreddit from what I've seen.

I think it's a bummer but I can hardly blame IMDb for this decision. This site, unfortunately, has become a complete cesspool. The admins probably spend countless hours cleaning up after the trolls. Partially it's IMDb's own fault because they don't actually block the users from the site properly but on the other hand, if they did then they would lose so much traffic. Sadly, the internet is largely overrun with trolls and they outnumber the decent users.
