shareNot showing the kidnapping was a stylistic choice by the director. Similar to QT’s Reservoir Dogs (a ‘heist film’ which doesn’t show the actual heist), this is a ‘kidnapping film’ that doesn’t show the actual kidnapping.
In both cases, the events not shown serve to move the plot forward, but are not really essential to their respective stories.
It can be assumed, though, that the characters here figured out a way to trick the kid into thinking she should go with them. Which would explain why she didn’t seem too upset.
