i've been completely taken with foyle's war and now that i'm approaching the end of the series to date, can anyone recommend some other historical crime mystery programs on par with foyle's war?

Watched the first series, not for my taste.

It's not a crime series, but another British series set in a country location during the second world war. It is based mainly on the ladies of the Women's Institute, their efforts to raise funds for the war effort and the impact of the war on their lives. I think any fans of Foyle's War would enjoy it too.
