Why all the Renne hate?

Her facial expressions arn't THAT annoying. And I find her ant eater pout to be endearing. LOVE THIS FILM, ALL TIME FAVOURITE.

Sorry, but I've just never understood Renée Zellweger's appeal. She always looks like she's been sucking on a lemon. Or sucking something.

All the universe or nothingness. Which shall it be, Passworthy? Which shall it be?

They make a joke about that in Me, Myself and Irene

I'm not generally a Renee fan, as I find her a bit grating on screen and in real life too (although, yes she was good as Bridget Jones) and I hate her awful scrawniness but I think she was on point in this film.

I'm a big fan of Doris Day and the film Pillow Talk which Down With Love is parodying and I think Renee nailed her expressions and mannerisms. True, she somehow doesn't have Doris' warmth and charm but if we're talking about playing the character true to type, then she did a great job.

I actually thought she was more convincing than Ewan at the characterisation - I LOVE Ewan normally and he was very charming as always but he doesn't have the same kind of look or vibe that Rock Hudson had. Plus, as this film is more tongue in cheek and kind of taking the mickey out of the original, Catcher Block was a much more OTT version of the character.

Overall the film was fun and cute and I've admittedly seen it a few times but it will never surpass Pillow Talk in my opinion - that's a true classic of its genre.

I find Renee a little tiresome in some movies but not in this one. She nailed it.
