Herc is the worst
Am I the only one who hates Herc the most? From all characters?
Sopranos - Breaking Bad - The Wire

yeah probably, Herc is comedic gold for the most part. And Valchek is a fuvking legend. One of the best scenes of the show is when Herc goes to Valchek for advice.
shareMy husband I are binging on Season 4 and we both just want Herc out!! He's just such a mess-up! Can't stand him! I really hope he's not indicative or based on any real BPC cop....who made Sergeant no less?!
shareYeah I hated Herc too, but I always hated Colicchio more
share'Snoop" was my least like character. Her accent sucked and she looked like she smelled. The fact she was being herself was the kicker for this opinuon of mine.
There are a lot of cops like Herc so I jyst found him real. The only thing which irritated me about him is that Al Capone Chicago talk he does the whole time. It sounds off.
The Starsky And Hutch music he has playing loud in his car while in pursuit of the "runner" they ignore at first during a raid is supposed to emphasise he is the light hearted part to balance out the criminal side which also has it's unintentional clowns.

Snoop's accent sucked? she's straight outta Baltimore wtf are you talking about..

I think the poster was saying having to listen to her guttural, grunting, trying-too-hard-to-sound-masculine way of speaking was an unpleasant experience...and I agree.
No, they were definitely trying for "unpleasant". They let her talk in her grating manner and it had the intended effect of making the audience not like her.
they were going for authentic.
Fact: If they wanted people to speak with true unfiltered Baltimore accents the audience would not be able to understand most of the language.
Jay D. Williams, the actor that plays Bodie, said something along those lines before. Snoop is actually turning down her accent for the camera. Complaining about her voice or the way she sounds is actually ridiculous when you think about. The very thing the show get praised for "realism" is the same thing that gets Snoop ridiculed.
Dude, it's not ridiculous. The sound coming out of her mouth sounds bad, that's all I'm saying. You say it's an accent. Whatever. I don't care WHY it sounds awful, I just know that it does.
sharedude it is ridiculous. So you don't like her voice. So What... Everyone is not going to sound like you want them sound. This is the way alot of people in Baltimore speak. The fact that you have the audacity to even question the character is hilarious.
You said she was trying to hard to sound masculine, lol. NewsFlash, she's not trying. Its who she is, the personality is no act. So remember that the next time you want to ridicule a character you don't have a clue about. Open your mind instead of dismissing a female just because you think her voice is too strong for you.
Not questioning anything, I'm stating my opinion. Listening to her is like someone rubbing sandpaper on my brain. That's it. I am allowed to like and dislike things.
sharestate it all you want. The point is you shouldn't care enough to even state an opinion. Its like you telling me you don't like the way someone's nose is shaped and its ruined the character for you. Why would you even care?
shareIt's a message board. People discuss things. They give opinions. Why are you so offended that I don't like the way the criminal, drug-dealing murderer talks? Are you her dad or something?
shareyes its a message board, and yes people discuss things. You threw an opinion out and I responded to it. We're discussing things right now. Why do you think I'm offended? I don't care that you don't like her voice. I just want to discuss the Wire and you chose to discuss Snoop's voice so I'm rolling with it.
You make it seem like her voice is offending you. I just think its a worthless gripe that I've seen alot over time. I could see it as a valid complaint if it detracted from her character, but it doesn't, it adds to it. So to me you complaining about something that gives a character authenticity to me is a waste of time and goes against logic itself.
Her voice and accent just makes the show more epic.
shareFrom all the characters? Even more than the slime-ball lawyer Maurice Levy..?

He's not the worst. But he is a basic douche with few, if any redeeming moments. I'd say the worst person on the entire show is Maurice Levy.

shareNamond's mother was the worst
shareAgreed. Herc was just an idiot and incompetent, outside of rare instances I don't think he was particularly mean spirited. Having watched the show front to back multiple times, I can't say who I dislike the most, as they are all 3 dimensional. As people I probably hated most of the high-level people who enforced the rules which contributed to a broken society. Examples of this would be Carcetti, the Vice-Principle and school superintendent (teach the tests), Burrell, and Steintorf (may actually hate him the most). Marlo was pure evil but it was understandable how he was created, Levy and Clay Davis were pure leeches. Out of random characters, I probably hated Agent Koutres the most.
