Anyone else hate Kima by the end of the series?

It's very odd, actually. I loved her character at the beginning. Strong, likable and smart female cop dealing with lot's of men in the workplace, and a relationship with another woman at home. But as the seasons continued, I didn't see her progress or change. She just came off cold. Especially the last season. Ratting on McNulty and Lester, ignoring Bubbles in the hospital, acting indifferent and rude on more then one occasion. Was this purposely done, or could it be chalked up to many critics dissing the show's lack of strong female characters in general? Perhaps they could have tweaked her character with some more relish (and heart).

I hate her every time I watch the series I get so happy when Little man shoots her.

Couldn't stand her and was hoping they'd kill her off as originally planned after she was shot.

I never hated her, her wife annoyed the hell out of me though.

Yes I hated her for ratting Jimmy and Lester out.. it made me respect Bunk more knowing it was wrong he kept quiet the entire time when it effected him the most. I really liked her in the first few season. but come Season 4 that is when she changed for me when she got to homicide. season 3 they her trying to be a female version of Jimmy. but come season 5 they had her being the suck up following chain of command. Jimmy and Lester should never have forgave her at the end.

I also think it would have been better if she'd died in season one, not to troll or because I "hate" her character, but because it would make the shooting, the effect it has on McNulty and also the stakes at the end of season one so much more serious.
It's not very well handled in season 2, the way she breaks her promise to her partner and goes back to the action of major crimes first chance she gets (although it's nowhere near as ridiculous as Daniels going back when he's on his way out with a law degree after being buried in evidence control).
While she had her moments up until the end of season 3, I think a lot of her story arc after that, especially her moving to homicide, would have been better served on Sydnor, especially since it's implied that he becomes the new McNulty by the end of it.
That said, one of my favourite lines in the entire show is when she's in hospital after surviving the shooting and Bunk's pressuring her to lie that she got a good look at both shooters, saying that it'll play a lot easier in court.
