Does that last scene where they all go into the room and Abe finds Joan in bed with JFK and they all freeze the death depress the crap out of anyone? It's not even the fact that it wasn't followed up by another episode but thats cene just kills me....
i just watched the finale (a minute ago) even though i've seen all the other episodes a while ago. i picked the dvd up at the video store randomly and it's probably the best random pick i've ever made. but on the vesion i picked up it doesn't have the last three episodes so i had to download them to watch them. i've held off from watching the finale till now, and i'm totally gutted.
*beep* everyone who wanted the show cancelled and whoever made the decision to cancel it. but i guess the fact that it ends where it does makes it more epic
I think the last episode was very interesting. At first I was really angry that the season ended like that, but I've grown to like it. I like the fact that it is a complete flip of what has been happening throughout the entire show...Cleo is chasing Abe, who is chasing Joan. I think it's oddly funny how when Abe finally figures out he loves Joan...she's moving on to someone else. I also love the song and how epic that moment feels. I also like how Abe is about to say he loves Joan and then it's the end (for now), but it is completely unnecessary to add the "J-CL" to add more stupid confusion. It is sooooo depressing...I think it is because of the Abandoned Pools song, but that scene definitely wouldn't have been as good without it. I need at least one more episode to tie up the loose ends (if we can't get another season)!!!
Ok. So i only wathced this show so far when it was airing originally back when i was actually in high school. I live in the US so i never saw the last five eps. But from what i did see, the realtionships were way secondary to general hilarity of the show. So now i read this and it doesn't seem to make sense to me. I mean you guys seem to have really taken the ending seriously, which doesn't match up with the tone of the show that I remember. Is it really that sad? I hvne't seen it but it just seems odd to me.
"I am the cheese. I am the best character. I am better than both the salami and bologna combined"
Ok so I went to youtube and saw all the eps now...and i sorta get it but it still isn't that sad. Its sad because the show ended after that but not too much because of Joan and Abe. I think its a decent ending when you think that there is a good chance the show might never come back. It isn't quite as frustrating as say, the last episode of "Angel" was but thats a totally different show that lasted 5 seasons.
"I am the cheese. I am the best character. I am better than both the salami and bologna combined"
I have to add one more thing that I noticed in the last episode. Before Abe goes into the freezer...Ghandi and Marie Curie are running and holding hands to tell Abe and others that they are together. Ghandi is finally not lonely anymore and also happy.
