this is not how a marching band works at all, but of course hollywood has to ruin all art including marching band.

There is more than just one style of marching band, and there are many schools wherein the majority of the band members are black. This film is not without its flaws, but as is often the case on iMDB, its substandard rating is due in part to ignorance.
