I agree! I think it should be based around adults this time. I also think it would be pretty cool if the creeper were an alien, but that's just me =)
I'm A 32 Year Old I.T. Man Who Works In The Basement, Yes I Do The Whole Lonely Hearts Thing.
orgin of beast, i think, is always very interesting
if it doesnt shows too much of cause
Creeper could be something like El chupakabra, you know, just an uniq animal.

Please, NO ALIENS!! That's always the cowardly way out of explaining some supernatural origin like Stephen King's "IT". That means they can just make up whatever sorry and weak excuse they want for the Creeper's existence. Since there's no real scientific proof or public documented history of actual alien life or biology, they can just say "alien" and the audience just says "ok" and that's it, because it avoids offending any religious members of the audience by using anything too occultish or Darwin-ish. I'd rather it just be an abomination of human and animal evolution. At least there's an explanation that people can understand and wrap their brain around.
Actually, I'd prefer if they didn't go into some long drawn-out explanation of where it came from. Nothing ruins a horror movie faster than spending alot of time explaining what it is. Just a line or two from somebody who's heard some vague urban legends or historical rumors would be fine by me. I think it's important to keep the mystery going, even if it's going to be the last movie of the series.
I agree---NO ALIENS! I also was really disappointed with "It"'s ending although it was following the book. I much more enjoy the idea of "ancient evil" that re-occurs throughout history. There are so many interesting stories involving such. Evil has been in this world since the beginning of mankind.
Of course the screenwriter will have to tie it into some ancient American Indian curse or such, but whatever makes it work.
I'm all for just explaining that it is evil, it will be difficult to defeat such evil but it can happen. Look at Freddy, he was an evil created by the fear and gang mentality of normal human beings when faced with a terrible situation. The same reason behind gang mentality violence-everyday people faced with a terrible situation
I always thought it was fairly obvious what the creeper was - a demon. Which doesn't mean there isn't a story to tell about its orginis.
shareWe want something materialistic, that excludes all the demon/ghost hockus Pockus!

So there is no documented history of actual alien, but it's ok to make creeper a demon or as you said an abomination of human evolution? Come on, you call that something "with scientific proof"? I'd rather believing in alien theory than some kind of bungled science that produces a demon that can live for thousands of years and be bullet-proof.
Hope for the best, plan for the worst, enjoy the rest
The third one will have a prologue in the Old West. Possibly an origins story or just a way to tell us that the Creeper's been around for a long time. Also the third one will have Trish as the main character and she will have a son named after her brother. His age is unknown right now. The movie will be set 23 years after the second one. Also the truck returns.
It's a joke. It's all a joke. Mother forgive me.

I thought it would be pretty cool if there was more than one 'creeper' and that they were a race that pre-existed humans, that they evolved to use us to survive...maybe I'm thinkin' too much.
Back off man, I'm a scientist.
I personally think movies are a lot scarier when we dont know all the details. cuz thats how it would be in real life. but thats just my opinion. =)
shareCant we just call the creeper a Necromorph, it was very Necromorph like.
I think it would be best to just leave it alone, keep it to each our own imagination of what we all might think it is. Like someone else said...leave it a mystery. It stays scarey that way, kinda like don't look under the bed, or closet because you never know what might waiting for you. BOO!!
shareI'm watching the 1st one right now and the way it walks down the street before Trish runs over him is very "Gunfight at the OK Corral"ish (or "Tombstone" for those who didn't grow up watching AMC and TCM) I could buy into a theory of it having once been a gunslinger who sold his soul in a very bad bargain.
