Was Kim Basinger too attractive to play a supposedly alcoholic, white trash character in a trailer park?

She still seems way too glamorous and "well put together" to make the whole thing work. It's kind of odd that Rabbit's mom is hotter than his love interest (with all due respect to the late, Brittany Murphy).

I thought she looked old and gross and who cares. She is supposed to be his mother. Goes to show where he get's his supposed good looks.
Some mothers are hotter too. Pamela Anderson is a mother. Megan Fox is a mother. Angelina Jolie is a mother. Good luck topping those women.
