I find this my favorite of the three. The mole scenes are classic, Mini Me is hilarious, the shadows casting scene is hilarious, and it's just overall a funny movie. Why does it get the lowest rating out of the three?!?
The film is awful. Immature, sick, vulgar, stupid, derivative, and unoriginal. And the fact that it is an American spoof of James Bond (which is itself a British spoof) makes the whole thing absurd.
The mole-scenes are only 'fun to watch' because you never see anything like that - people don't generally -dare- say what they really think when they see a hideous mole or similar facial abnormality or disfiguration. Austin is basically saying out loud what the audience thinks, he behaves in a way that audience would -love- to behave, but instead, they have to bury their true reaction under the veil of 'polite behaviour'.
Mini-me was never 'hilarious' in any of the movies, I just find it a bit annoying. Mini-me starts as a sort of 'human-shaped dog' and most of the jokes have to do with the bodily size. Yawn.
The shadows-scene was done better in the second movie, and it flows much better in the second one. This movie simply recycles jokes, but doesn't do justice to those jokes, so they all fall flat.
It gets lowest rating probably because it's soulless, big-budget, humorless, boring, badly-paced clone of what someone thinks audiences want from an Austin Powers-movie. It's completely superficial, there's no soul or new ideas, just lots of money and gimmicks.
The third is the most feelingless and lackluster sequel I have ever seen. Plus, the girl can't act. Goldmember is a failure as a character in all possible ways. Boring, dull, uncharismatic, and extremely gross. It doesn't even parody Goldfinger very well.
I don't think what would compel anyone to think the third movie is any good on any level or for any reason, when the two much better movies exist.
