So is the whole point of this movie is that Lauren wasn't "raped" (for lack of a better word), Paul didnt hit on that guy and Sean didnt have sex with that girl... or did i miss something "Someone has to die in order that the rest of us should value life more. It's contrast."
Legally speaking she was raped. But in the end of the movie she goes outside and talk to the gay character. The guy who raped her threw oh her. Are you people saying she cleaned herself after and then went outside with a poker face like nothing happened? The end for me was pretty clear: none of the three main characters did what the movie showed in the beginning.

She wasn't clean, she looked a little tattered. And the dude puked on her back, she had her coat over clothes so you don't that she was clean. And she didn't have a poker face. Her narrative indicated a sense of resignation. She wasn't outraged in her narrative so why would look like she was?
And, Paul was holding his side, the side where he was kicked by the dude.
The three main characters did what was showed in the beginning, because that was actually the end, chronologically. The idea that they didn't do those things is ridiculous.

When they go outside, listen to the song playing. It is the song that was playing during the rape.
She must have chosen to go outside rather than upstairs. Either that or it was a REALLY long song, which went on long enough for her to sober up, wash off etc.
The events shown at the beginning of the film was a possible outcome, but not the actual one. This happens multiple times during the film, Paul imagining himself with Sean, Lauren imagining herself helping the suicide woman.
I can't be bothered to read all the posts. All of it happened. But the movie starts off at the end and, so at the end of the movie when Sean is at the party and rips the letter up, that is just before where the movie started. It's told in reverse.
"Life is like a movie. Only you can't Pick your Genre"
