Way too depressing

I hadn't seen this movie for quite some time so I decided to put the DVD on today. I found it to be really depressing this time around. It was nothing more than 2 hours of horrible vile characters doing nothing interesting, just constant sex and drugs. There was no character devolopment. The only character I liked a little was the young girl who kills herself over Sean. And even that was an extreme over-reaction on her part. And what's so special about Victor anyway? He's a complete jerk and he's not even that good looking (coming from a straight male by the way). I've read the book as well and it was slightly better but it's pretty much the same. I'm so glad I wasn't rich and spoiled while growing up so I didn't turn into these kind of teenagers.

Overall, it was an unpleasant re-watching of this movie. Sorry if it seems like I'm ranting. It's just my opinion.

I completely agree. After an attempt to rewatch, after several years from the first viewing, it was just awful. Depressing and grim..
It's just one awful situation after another.

The movie is true to life. I knew lots of people like this in college.
. This is what parents send their kids to college for. Disgusting, but quite accurate.
