Why David Gale's "Point" in his death is unfair
So let me say that the 3 part swerve here was well done, not masterfully, but good.
1. Gale supposedly murders someone
2. Gale is framed for murder by his good friend
3. Gale voluntarily participates in portraying the death of his good friend for the sake/cause of proving that someone who is innocent can be put to death by the state.
I saw an earlier post mention that when Gale was debating on live TV with the gov. of Texas and was pressed on one example of an innocent who was killed by the death penalty, that he had no answer and simply gazed at the smirking politican. In that moment, he was crafting a plan.
It's true, he was. However, I don't think someone who crafts a plan like that portrays an honest assessment of capital punishment. It's not honest.
