PLEASE READ!!! IMPORTANT IF YOU LIKED TAKEN!!!

please everyone sign this petition for a sequel you know the story isnt complete heres the link

http://www.petitiononline.com/taken/petition.html

also what do you guys think about a sequel?

i think the show was very good, but the ending left me hanging. I think the outcome of Allie needs to be explained, for that was what the entire show led up to.

and dont forget to sign the petition and spread the word to whoever u can, the more signatures the better please!!

No. Some shows are better off left alone, I loved Taken and I think a little mystery never killed anyone. I vote leave a legacy alone, it's called discipline. When shows push too hard, they begin to lose quality.

While my wife likes the sequal idea, I agree in letting it go while riding the apex of the wave. I think to push onwards would take a good show and ruin it. There in now only potential for contrived serials and bad ideas.

I think to another entertaining show, The 4400. Awesome for a couple of seasons while the producers are pumping their writers creativity, then comes the third season and the creativity is gone. The writers are grasping at straws, the producers accepting the scripts as profitable but surely no longer creative or riveting.

Like an underwater adventure, there are only so many places to go.

Look @ Star Wars, the Original Trilogy was brilliant but the prequel series is poor in comparison tht in my opinion ruins the series.

Like if Peter Jackson makes the Hobbit or the Silmarillion, the LOTR series would be interesting for fans but not for moviegoers.

A Taken series would be intersting but some answers should not be disclosed.

How about Taken from and the Aliens point of view?

Like destroy all humans lol.

reply

I agree with this dude because i have waited 4 years for a sequal so i'm signin the petition

I loved taken but if a sequal is to be made, it would obviously depend on the story line and the stars. How about alli (dakota) coming back to get her little sisters help (elle) to defend earth from aliens who are waging a terrible war with allie's frends and are trying to kill alli's sister before she
can get involved and turn the tide in the war.

Cool, yes. Would I watch it? Probably. Would it be Taken? Not a chance.

I'm sorry to say this, but I agree that there shouldn't be a sequel.

Mainly because the ending is done in such a fashion that it leaves you hanging but it doesn't leave you empty, the rest you just have to fill in for your self.

While I was watching the series I thought a lot about how they were gonna end it and when I finally saw it, it felt exactly as it should, because nothing else would work after the entire plot of this film has been perceived.

One other thing, the format of the movie is a kind of "documentary". I, my self stick with the motto "where ever there is smoke, some where there is a fire". So the purpose of this film other than pure entertainment is to inform you of what "might have happened", but they are certainly not going to tell you what is "yet going to happen", you just have to figure that out, or maybe "find that out" for your self.

That's just a thought. And as this movie leads us to believe "thoughts" really do matter a lot more than we think. :)

The way I see it, a sequel just opens the door to dross to creep in as they may run out of ideas of what to do and things will start escalating and the suspension of disbelief will just not happen. I mean, the first series of the X-Files were OK, now they are just dross, with more and more unexplained stuff being thrown in and a lot of conspiracy theories because that is what is expected. At least at the beginning they left you with the "what-if" and the "perhaps it really happened", not it is all a conspiracy.

I fear a sequel to Taken, although it might be done with good intentions, would ruin it in the end.

I do not think a Taken from the Alien point of view would work either, after all, they just mess with things every so often, it's like a game of Sims, you get them a job, you get them a girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband and then just leave them running on their own for a while, when they need anything special you intervene and then you leave them running on their own again. To me that's what the aliens did, so it would make for pretty boring viewing if they have to fill in the gaps or for pretty short series or for a very convoluted plot (and loads of money on FX to show the aliens in their home planet since they will not require to look human all the time). Not many networks would be willing to spend that kind of money...

No, leave Taken as is, I do not see why people need some sort of follow up, just use your imagination, think of all the "may be's" think of all the different ways things can go after all the stuff that has been hinted at and told during the series, a second series is not needed. If it was not planned as a series with more than one season, then it means they did not give it much of a thought for following any plot.

I agree. My last post on this subject was just to show the only possible way a sequel might not suck too badly.

i hope thats not true. they can still continue the story

BUMP

I hate sequels. They never have exactly the same cast or crew & usually ruin the memory of the original.

reply

yeah but thats not true for every sequel, and taken wasnt really like a complete ending. it sort of leaves what happens to allie to your imagination... but it would be interesting to see what the author would think of to happen

I dont think an entire new series would be such a good idea, i like the idea of a kick ass Taken movie from spielberg, not a totally over-done special effects fest, but something inkeeping with the original series, wrap up the Ally story with some style. I'm thinking Ally returns years later to a war torn planet (much like ours is already becoming) and discovers its a result of the aliens medelling of minds and biology that happened in the TV series, so she has to either erradicate everything the aliens did (including herself, her biological family and all the other abductees) or somehow incorperate even more alien 'sensibilities' to our world (something the aliens dont want to happen because it could detrimentally affect their new found existence thanks to inclusion of ally in their gene pool).

Just an idea if your reading this Mr Spielberg! lol

i loved taken and am currently watching the re-runs on bbc2 and remember how great thsi was, but its ambigous ending was part of its chram, the lack of resolution and cliche' "good guys outright win" type stuff really and it should just be left as it finished in my opinion.
