Hannibal Lecter Series Ratings:

1. Red Dragon - This is my favorite among the Hannibal Lecter series. The cast was amazing. Edward Norton was great as Will Graham. You could feel his pain and vulnerability. Ralph Fiennes was amazing as Francis Dollarhyde. Of course,Anthony Hopkins was convincing as Dr Hannibal Lecter. Also, the rest of the cast such as Philip Seymour-Hoffman,Harvey Keitel,Emily Watson and Mary Louise Parker gave justice to the amazing movie. The story was interesting and you get hooked into it.A 10 out of 10 rating.

2. The Silence Of The Lambs - This movie deserves all the five Academy Awards it won. Jodie Foster was great as Clarice Starling while Anthony Hopkins was simply classic as Hannibal Lecter.(This was his best performance of the role). The story telling was great as we get to learn about Starling's inner demons and we get introduced to Hannibal The Cannibal. A 10 out of 10 rating as well.

3. Hannibal - Great acting by both Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore. The cinematography was classic especially those scenes filmed in Italy.Ridley Scott's direction is commendable. The story was good but not as great as The Red Dragon and Silence Of The Lambs as there was less character study. A 10 out of 10 rating as well nevertheless.

4. Manhunter - Michael Mann has absolutely great direction in this film. William Petersen as Will Graham as good but not as great as Norton while Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecktor was interesting but it was not at part with how Anthony Hopkins played the role. The story was similar to The Red Dragon since it was based on the same novel but the movie told it in a less interesting fashion. A 9 out of 10 rating.

5. Hannibal Rising - This was a good movie about the young Hannibal Lecter. It was good but not as great as the other four movies. There is too much violence and grotesque scenes in this film. Acting was commendable especially by Ulliel as the young Hannibal Lecter and Gong Li as Lady Murasaki. An 8 out of 10 rating.

1. Red Dragon (2002) is easily my vote for the best. I thought Hopkins was more frightening and that Ralph Fiennes is a great insane killer. I felt like this one had more thrills and more engaging a plot than the other two. (8/10)

1. Manhunter (1986) I would rate on the same level as Red Dragon. Both tell the exact same story in two very different ways, in some areas Manhunter succeeded, in others Red Dragon succeeded. By the way, I actually don't know who I prefer as Lector, Cox or Hopkins. (8/10)

2. Silence Of The Lambs (1991), I have to admit, was actually a good movie but there was something...I don't know...off about it. Don't get me wrong, Hopkins is still creepy, the dynamic relationship is still there but...I think it might be that Buffalo Bill seems too forced as a serial killer. Anyone who even remotely reads on the subject will know who that is a representation of. Anyway, I still enjoyed it. (8/10)

3. Hannibal (2001) was beyond stupid. I mean, as I said in my review, it does keep you interested enough to want to know what happens but the dynamic isn't there and Hannibal Lector just doesn't suit the whole "anti-hero" card. He will ALWAYS be the villain. (4/10)

I haven't seen the other one but from what I'm told...its crap.

Silence of the Lambs (10/10)

Manhunter (9/10)

Red Dragon (5/10)

Hannibal (1/10) (Hated what Thomas Harris did with Clarice's character!)

Haven't see Hannibal Rising

Hannibal (TV Series) (9/10) (Hopefully the series will last and Fuller will not ruin Clarice's character. Mads Mikkelsen is a great Hannibal!)
