Forest Whitaker is ruining the 5th season

The Shield is a fantastic show, but most of the 5th and even 6th season is ruined by the character Jon Kavanaugh, played by Forest Whitaker.
A very bad choice of the writers.

No. He made the season excellent. Great actor, even greater character.

Forest Whitaker, if anything, elevated Seasons 5/6 due to his presence. He's one of the most intense characters in the show and his arc is compelling from start to finish. Truthfully, I felt like he was the only adversary the ST had whom I felt was worthy of taking them on.

Season 5, along with S7, is some of the best television I've ever watched.

Uh yeah, S5 is universally considered the shows' best season, in part because of Whitaker's performance.

Whitaker almost ruined the entire season for me.
