What was the creepiest scene in the film?

The Birthday Party scene was unexpected.

For me, it was when the aliens were breaking in upstairs and were definitely in the house, and everyone (human) was standing right there in the hallway, near the foot of the stairs.

Almost creepiest:

Hearing the aliens chatter on the baby monitor

When Mel Gibson looks up and sees an alien on the roof (and doesn't even realize it's an alien).

Leg in the cornfield.

There are a few.

The noise when Graham cuts it's fingers off.

The hand of an alien trying to pry the door open from underneath.

The sound of them running around the house outside.

The cornfield scene at night chills me!

The party scene!

All good choices.

The alien on top of the barn that was seen from the kids room.

"There's a monster outside my room, can I have a glass of water?".

^^This. CHILLS!!!

Why do you care?

reply

Agreed, totally freaky!

That was a great scene. I remember seeing that in the trailer for the film and it was like...oh sheeeeit

The birthday party scene is special for me. When i watched in vhs in 2004, when that scene started, the radio of my father emited a weird sound, me and my father noticied, it lasted a couple of seconds... it was nightime.

I actually couldn't sleep for 2 weeks after seeing this at the cinema.

I remember one particular night.
It was about 2:30/3:00am. I couldn't sleep at all because of this movie, and there was a large gap at the bottem of my bedroom door. I could just imagine an alien hand under the door, just like signs! Anyway I tried reading for a while but I was just too freaked out. All of a sudden,my whole house started shaking. I could hear all the cutlery jangling around in the kitchen. First thought.. IT'S A DAMN SHIP!

Turns out we had an earthquake. They are pretty much unheard of here in the UK, so you can understand why I was so freaked lol

haha, I feel you man. I actually had troubles to sleep for about three months after watching this movie in theaters, and that makes it the most memorable horror film for me.

Seeing the alien's reflection on the tv screen.
Hearing the alien voices during the dinner scene on the baby monitor.
The hand grabbing Morgan in the basement.

I'm going to have to watch this again, because I missed a bunch of these things. I don't remember seeing the alien on the barn or in the reflection of the TV screen. The aliens were creepy though. They were very stupid though. Is you know that water will harm you, why go to a planet that is 65% water? I understand they wanted to come down, harvest humans for food and just leave. But how would you do that if humans have water guns, hoses and fire hoses? lol!! There's no way these aliens would win with just poisonous guns.
