I just read a review/comment on reddit from a few years ago. The poster was going on and on about how uncomfortable this movie was and how it was oh so not titillating. I don't agree. I think this movie went out of its way to avoid a bleak tone - and whilst the Anne Hathaway nude scenes were not Basic Instinct-esque, they were clearly meant to titillate the viewer.

The tone of the movie was like an after-school special. The movie could have been over in 30 minutes: Once the wannabe gangster boy tries to get his drugs back, his head would have been blown off or at the very least pistol whipped, and then the other gringos would have known that shit is for real.
