What I think you're asking mdidesidero is if we were supposed to take the PERFORMANCES seriously. Am I right ? If I am, then my answer to you is that I think we WERE supposed to take these performances seriously. I don't think they were meant to be ridiculous caricatures of white boy gangsta wannabes. I think the actors were actually trying to give performances which were supposed to be looked at as realistic - but they were just really REALLY REALLY bad performances and so it came off as pathetic & funny.
