Did you cry at any part in this movie? (SPOILERS)

The only part that got me was the ending, when Dan and Steve kill themselves. They started crying, then Steve killed himself, and Dan continued to cry, then I started crying, and then Dan killed himself. It was even worse because Ned listened while they did this, and you could see in his face that he knew.

I didn't feel bad at all when Joe Byrne died, because he stupidly stood up during a gun fight saying, "Gents, I think I need a drink." WTF? I mean, I'm sure he realized that he wasn't going to make it, but he could have at least stuck it out with the rest of them and knocked off a couple more coppers before he died. Ned did that for Christ's sake! And, it was also sad that although people petitioned for him, Ned was hanged when he was only 25.

Anyway, what do you all think?

Man... i started crying when it was night and ned went out in the rain by himself and started shooting the cops by himself... i was sure he was gonna die right then...the music, the circumstances and thinking he was gonna die made me cry...

This movie isnt all that sad, good or even true. I'm related to ned (ggggg-cousin) and my grandma always tells me about him and made me read a book about him. In this movie he and his gang are made out to be legends but they killed innocent men freely.

Yeah yeah yeah, everyone's related to Ned! I'm sick of hearing it....for a family of men who never sired any children, and a handful of sisters providing all descendency, he sure has a crap-load of relatives. Each one of those sisters of Ned's must have been pushing out 50 kids a piece.

Ned's family tree is very well accounted for. I will stand corrected if you can 'prove' your descendency with a couple of names and addresses.

Until then, I accuse almost everyone on here, including yourself, claiming relation to Ned as being full of the old Irish blarney.

And here's my offer to your counter offer. Go f--k yourself.

Why would you consume poison when you've got a gun in your hand?

I'm not the crying type, but if I had cried it would have started with Joe and lasted until the end of the movie or longer.

My girlfriend wailed at the "Such is life" remark at the end of the film, I then had to proceed and hand her a whole box of tissues, before she wanted to watch it again. And then, the icing on the cake, she wanted to know if Ned Kelly really died, so I had to search it up on the net, THEN had to go through another box of damn tissues.

All in all, good movie, don't watch it with your girlfriend.

"Such a life" the last line really got me.

I was dying when Dan and Steve killed themselves. The part where they grab hands.. oh my god. I'm tearing up now. The part when Joe died I was a little sad made me tear up, but I kind of thought.
"wow, thats ironic.. poor guy."

Also the last few lines and when they take Ned's sash. Yeah, I cried a lot in this movie.

why are you wearing that stupid man suit?

reply

yes i cried but but in weird parts. When Jane goes into Neds room and he has a flashback of them to riding together... I dont know why I cried I think because that was before all the crap started happening and he was probably happy.
I also cried right at the end when Ned has a flashback of when he was awarded the green and gold sash and of his dad..... i cry at all the flashbacks!!!!!
I love the Narrating in this movie heath ledgers voice is so sad.... It also makes it hard now that he has passed away.....

I was so mad when Orlando Bloom died! He is so cute!

reply

yeh......... i cant watch this movie anymore. i guess its because its a true story and it actually happened. and because heath's dead too, seeing him onscreen is unbearable now.

i cry when steve and dan commit suicide, the way dan wails 'steve..... no' its so sad! and just the way ned looks after he heard the gun shots, as if he knew what they did.

the song at the end makes me cry too, its so beautiful, yet so sad

I was crying pretty much throughout the last half hour of the movie. I felt really bad when Joe died, but I was bawling when Steve and Dan died - their deaths got me more than any of the rest of them.
