'Two hours of lesbian nihilism to a three-note piano score'
That's my review.
shareHow absolutely clever of you to dismiss such a profound and beautifully acted movie with such a flip and irrelevant comment -- it says far more about you than about this movie.
I am free. But life is so cheap.
Awesome. I was going to post my own scathing review, and lament the time wasted watching this film, but your subject line says it all.
shareI guess the one line review was meant to reflect that you felt that the movie was one-dimensional. It actually isn't that bad a critique if you read it properly. "Two hours of lesbian nihilism" does convey some complexity and points of view, which the movie has (though I wouldn't randomly lump the elements of "lesbian" and "nihilism" together). So basically, the review's only criticism is in moderately exaggerating the nature of the score. Not too "scathing" in my book.
shareTake it how you like it, then. I read "Two hours of lesbian nihilism to a three-note piano score" as a humorous, accurate, and fairly negative assessment.
shareWell, the original poster obviously intended it to be entirely negative. just don't think it's that bad when taken out of context. Not that it takes anything away from my enjoyment of the movie or his disenjoyment of it.
shareWELL, PISH F!CKING POSH!
I liked it.

Perhaps the most succinct, perfectly-worded, and utterly accurate review of a film I have ever read. Thank you, Amandil.
shareOh please.
shareYes and we Love love love it. So what??
shareI took a moment to check out Amandil's other post. They are mostly about actresses boobs. Seriously. So take the "review" for what it's worth.

Wrong, cafais. It IS funny.
Glass should have scored this film with "Koyaanisqatsi."

Gee, cafais, just because I agree with someone doesn't mean we live next door to each other! I agree with lots of people on IMDb. I don't have any idea where they come from.
Too bad you can't come up with a brilliant comment that engenders a lengthy discussion. All you want to do is criticize the positive reaction to it. Jealous?

The comment itself was neither funny nor true and - quite honestly - sounds borrowed.

And what about this one-person cheering section?
