Typical American anti-intellectual pseudoscience

Doctors DO know more than patients. People also get sick and die because they were NOT intellectually designed. Live with it.

He that will not reason is a bigot; he that cannot reason is a fool; he that dares not reason is a slave. - William Drummond

To explain the unknown by the known is logical; to explain the known by the unknown is lunacy. — David Brooks

I'm just gonna jump right in here. I'm an atheist, and he was an alien. Did no one else think that if religion were expressed anywhere in this movie, it was throught the Psychiatrists? If you watch this movie, and think for yourself, and not just swollow what the psychiatrists say because you know dick about psychology, you will see the simplest, most logical explanation is that he was an alien.

Let's make like Waterworld and close immediately.

could it be that your emotions (and maybe an habit) make you miss the point.

the point in the movie is not to say that Prot owns more knowledge than the doctors.

the point of the movie is to portray divergent thinking, as opposed to what you and Dr Powell seem to limit yourself in doing, that is, obsessively considering things through what you already know.

maybe it is a lack of curiosity, maybe it is arrogance or fear. there is some value in doubt and divergence.

maybe you re particularly surrounded with esoteric idiots and hindered in your daily life.

however, if i understand correctly, that an intellectual is someone who revendicates himself of an achieved status with the corresponding attitude, then i guess this movie rightfully is about anti-intellectual pseudo science. just like every other genius in our history who saw his theories be dismissed by the established technocrats.
