Do most adult really like this?

I'm a female in my mid 20s, and I'm not a movie snob or anything. People had been telling me I should see this movie for a while, so finally a few days ago i decided to give it a try. About 25 minutes into it, I'd had enough. It's cute and all, but come on, it's a kid's movie. Why do so many adults like this?

reply

Yeah, the "humor" in this film is nonexistent. All the jokes fell flat. These stupid people need to grow up and take off the nostaglia glasses but I guess it's too hard to face the reality that they were stupid kids who probably became even stupider adults. Better to stick to their convictions and use tired platitudes to defend this bad movie.

Don't feel bad. You're better than these people who like this movie. They are hopeless. If they think this is a good family movie, they haven't seen many good family movies. They are easily impressed by fish graphics and pretty pictures DHUURRRRR.

reply

The humor is nonexistent? Not to me. I loved the seagulls all yelling "Mine, mine, mine!" Also the crabs kept muttering something funny, but it's been a while since I've seen it so don't recall what it was they were muttering.

reply

I agree. I was a kid when it came out, but I still find parts of it funny. Then again, I am rather easily amused. 😂

reply

I saw it for the first time maybe 4 years ago, as an adult, and thought parts of it were funny. Also the artwork in the animation was stunning and fun to look at :)

I'm an adult and still love Disney/Pixar movies. There were more adults than kids when I saw Inside Out and Finding Dory at the theatre. I'll be going to see Cars 3 soon.

reply

I'm an adult now and I was an adult back when this movie was released. I loved the movie then and I still do. I don't see why an adult wouldn't like it, it's great. Nothing childish about it at all.

reply

Yep, it's a good movie. Simple as that.

reply

I felt the same...(also a female in 20s)

reply

Most adults who grew up watching it as a kid still do.

I was in 7th grade when it came out. Back then, this movie was quite popular at my middle school. Many of my friends in my grade we're excited to see it despite being 12, 13, and 14 years old.

The story appeals on different levels.

reply

Well most of today's adults were still kids when it first came out.

So id say yes

I caught it by surprise on TV one day and really enjoyed it. It's colorful and funny. I am a big Albert Brooks fan and I like Ellen as well. Throw in Willem Dafoe, what's not to like?

reply

I was interested in the story line.
Obviously we appreciate the hard work but its something that doesnt sit well with a lit of people, I guess.
The only highlight I can say is that dog is literally the cutest dog of all time. I love seeing him!
