I'm a female in my mid 20s, and I'm not a movie snob or anything. People had been telling me I should see this movie for a while, so finally a few days ago i decided to give it a try. About 25 minutes into it, I'd had enough. It's cute and all, but come on, it's a kid's movie. Why do so many adults like this?
id agree with above. u have no soul or sense of humour. i love it as does my 4 year old son. how can u not find the shark scene funny, or the crabs or the seagulls or dory and especially the turtles.
I'm a full grown adult and I love it. It's genuinely funny, it's got heart and emotion, and the characters are all so likable. What's not to enjoy here?
It's a a great story with lots of mature themes. Tell me that Marlo's attitude toward his son about being so over protective doesn't reflect a lot of parents.
I see a few knee-jerk reactions in the replies. Sadly, that's what you get for expressing a negative opinion about a popular film on IMDB.
I'm with you. I love animated films, saw this not long after the release and thought it was a little boring. I rewatched it today in 3D and almost fell asleep. It's visually beautiful (especially in 3D), but there really isn't much to the story. It certainly didn't help that I found Dory completely unfunny and even a bit annoying. It's good as a children's movie, I get it, but I think it's ridiculously overrated.
The "knee-jerk" reactions are the result of the OP criticising the movie for nothing more than the fact that it's a "kid's movie", which, apparently, should be a sole reason for adults not to like it. The OP had it coming.
I saw the film upon release when I was 11 and quite enjoyed it. Of course, this was before the movie was established as a 'classic' . Would I enjoy it now? Probably not as much. I recently saw Frozen after my siblings raved about it, and thought it was a bit overrated.
