Is Cheryl a top 3 worst TV wife in history?

-Constantly taking other people's sides instead of her husband's even when he's right
-Constantly complains about everything he does, any time he has an opinion that isn't 100% conventional she looks at him like's a freak
-Constantly denies Larry sex for the stupidest reasons
-For some reason wants to marry Larry really badly in the flash back and even bribes him by saying she'll let him sleep with another woman for their 10th anniversary (i.e gold digger)
-Acts like Larry owes her something even though he has provided her with such an extravagant lifestyle and yet she doesn't acknowledge this at all
-Always nags Larry to do things that she could easily do herself
-Buys a beach house with Larry's money almost immediately after they separate

I would have blown my brains out if I had to live with this cow of a woman for the rest of my life. Susie is obviously the epitome of a terrible wife, but she was designed to be that way. Cheryl is supposed to be the normal one when she's really just some useless gold digger who puts up with Larry's eccentricities to mooch off him.

Welcome to the world of American women. She's actually quite a pleasant one compared to millions of other housewives/ex-wives in real life in the US.

As for wives/ex-wives oblivious to living off husbands' wallets... What country do you think this takes place? Was there a single woman (with her husband being rich or not) in this country in the past 30 years who once appreciated taking enormous money off their (ex-)husbands' wallets? Why should Cheryl be any different?

BTW, this is a main reason why I yet remain unmarried, to protect my (not so insignificant) savings.

Very true and I think it's a deliberate choice by Larry, seeing how basically everything about CYE is a satire on the superficial and crazy Hollywood people.

I also think the premise of CYE is basically a "what if..." scenario for Larry, examining how horrible his life would turn out if he'd just stop working after Seinfeld (no CYE in that scenario) and live the superficial moneysquandering Hollywood lifestyle instead. That's why Cheryl is only interested in dinner parties and fake environmentalism.

About Susie ("the epitome of a terrible wife"), she will always stick up for her family in public and never take someone else's side in a public argument. In that regard she's a much better wife than Cheryl.

Flirting with Ted Danson right in front of Larry
Making him move house because of a cable
Forcing him to celebrate Christmas
Allowing her parents to treat him like crap in his own house
Recycled toilet paper
Blackmailing him into taking in another Family
Never defending him.

She is a bad wife.

Lol! Hilarious!

As a woman and a wife I always watch 'Curb' cringing in embarrassment on Cheryl's behalf - always having to try to make amends for Larry's social faux pas. I'm amazed she tolerated him for as long as she did.

I don't like her. She rather be liked by these strangers and acquaintances than standing by her husband.
Great job of acting by Sheryl hines by being subtle in expressing her annoyance toward Larry.

reply

Maybe, but LD is probably a top 3 worst TV husband in his own right
