Sarah Altman typical teenager ?

I got to ask is Sarah Altman a typical teenager she seemed like a spoiled, rotten, annoying brat. I know one thing at the age of 12 if I would of acted or said half the things she did to her mom I would of eaten some teeth; at 30 I still knew better than to talk to my mom.

I do see alot of teenagers act, talk and carry on like that is that how the world has become.

U have to keep In mind that Sarah was a crazy situation We didn't see her at her best. Most of us would probably get a little nasty in a crazy situation like that.

Fincher explains in the commentary for the film that Sarah is pushing at the boundaries of authority, which is pretty normal for a 12yr old.

People seemed to really react about Sarah’s behavior in the film. I think it is because of riding the razor scooter in the house and undermining her mother in front of strangers. For most of us, that is unthinkable, haha.

But I think the Jodie Foster character isn’t a disciplinarian. Indulges Sarah. And Sarah is a smart girl anyway. That all results in a bit of “freshness,” as people used to say.

I think what really “annoyed” people about Sarah was at the time audiences sometimes had trouble telling if the character was a boy or girl. A lot of people thought she was a boy (regardless of the name). I think that unconsciously put a lot of people off. I think it just made people uncomfortable not being sure who they were engaging with.

Maybe I’m wrong. Kristen Stewert also played Sarah with a near constant look of antagonism on her face, haha. I suspect that alone makes a lot of people want to smack her for being a brat.

Kristen Stewert did such a good job on that movie. People forget what a good actress she is.

She was a pretty normal teenager. Are you jealous that they had such a great relationship? They communicated so well and so what if she was acting funny when they were taking the tour of the house? Give her a break. And she didnt seem one bit spoiled to me. She was ok with eating pizza if it meant her mom could catch a break. Also swearing doesnt make you immoral. Swearing is nothing but a form of expression. What are you in the second grade? Swearing has no effect on anyone's morality or character. Seems to me that you had really strict parents who were super controlling and who you were scared of. Thats a *beep* parent. Jodie foster in the movie seemed like a pretty good parent who is easily able to communicate with her daughter and understand what she is going through. And the best part was that kristen stewart didnt seem scared of her which is a good thing. There is difference between being scared of your parents and respecting them and most often people who are scared of their parents dont respect them at all. Why would you ever want your child to follow whatever you say blindly and/or be scared of you?

Umm i agree with what you said.I'm not sure to who or what was my comment reffer to since imdb isn't that great at making those things clear.

It is also suggested that she spent time with her father's girlfriend. That's why Jodi's character is more acceptable of her behavior.
