I gave it a 3/10. The shooting scenes were cool but Daniel Craig's death was anti-climatic and I really had no emotional attachment to any of the characters.

Eh 3 it too low. I found it slightly boring and wondered if they should have stayed true the novel. Haven't read it, but i assume its better than film. 6.4/10 for me.
shareGood score, cinematography, acting, cast. It's a solid 7-7.5 movie. There's just something about it that I can't quite pin point that prevents me rating it higher. When the film finishes I can't say it particularly stays with me like films I would rate higher, do.
shareThe movie overall was trying to be an epic cerebral meditation instead of being a gritty movie about American Irish Gangsters during the 30s. The costume design, cinematography, and music felt right, but the casting choices and how the characters were drawn felt right out of some melodramatic British period movie.
shareI am not a fan of mob films at all. When I started watching it, I had hoped it was about the police when Tom Hanks comes home and takes off his gun. But it's a mob film. It's beautifully produced, looks great and I started to enjoy it more in the second half and the cast is very good. I gave it 71/100.
