Has this movie aged well at all?
I remember the CGI being surprisingly good for its time. But I remember it being nothing more than a solid rental.

shareI ALWAYS LIKED THIS FLICK...MCCONAUGHEY WAS AWESOME!..THE COOLEST HE HAS EVER BEEN AND THE STORY WAS COOL...REAL DECENT DRAGON FLICK.
shareI haven't seen it in ages, but "a solid rental" is about my memory as well. I remember being pumped for it because I had just been turned onto Christian Bale through American Psycho, and Gerard Butler through Dracula 2000, and I was down for Matthew McConaughey as well, so it felt like a dream team. But then I felt the movie was "pretty good" but nothing more than that.
I should rewatch it. Looks like it's not on any of the streaming services though. That sucks.
I liked it but haven't rewatched the movie in years. Seems like there were plans to make a prequel before this movie bombed.
shareIt focuses more on the human elements than the dragons. That's the strength of the film. When they show too much of the dragons, it gets away from itself, and I lose interest.
shareI always have a fond memory for the 1981 movie "DRAGONSLAYER" that definitely had Great Dragon FX for it's time with some Practical FX thrown in for realism
shareI just watched that for the first time ever. I'm really surprised it hasn't endured a little more in pop culture, because it was surprisingly good. I actually read the novelization when I was a kid, but it must not have been great, because I didn't remember it at all.
shareI think it's aged pretty well. I watched it last night after not having seen it since the blu-ray first came out in 2007, and found it very entertaining.
