Regardless of gun laws, if the American government ever decided to wage a shooting war against its citizens, then the country would be finished. Everything would be flushed down the toilet. That means no more gasoline profits, no more corporate consumerism, no more control. That's unlikely to happen.
I'm not a gun owner, but I don't think that adding restrictions to gun laws will do anything to stop crime or invading enemies, or whatever.

My gun vs Govt's tanks, airplanes, ships, drones wouldn't work on the first day or second or even year.
But once govt/occupation forces settle in that's when you start taking block by block. One tank at a time. Small resistance which turns into force over time. Basically what Iraqis did after shock and awe.
Your mental if you think civilians could take on a military machine like nazi Germany. The vast majority of Germans supported Hitler so having guns wouldn't have helped it would've killed the jews quicker. If the jews shot the nazis military, Hitler would've had an excuse for open genocide and the holocaust would've happened alot sooner.
Poland and France had guns, tanks, artillery, fighters, bombers etcetera but got rolled over in a matter of weeks. Civilians with pistols and semiauto rifles would last hours and only ensure their own extermination.
