Besides the fairly juvenile behavior of the cast in general, what bothered me most about this film was the most shameless product placement I've ever seen (the cast explicitly recommending Head and Shoulders). Am I the only one to get bothered by this?!?

Orlando Jones is even holding the shampoo bottle backwards during the end Head and Shoulders 'Advert'. I think the fact it is such an established brand rather than some new product which would require promotional product placement is why it is not as bad anyway.
I thought it worked well comedically. Product placement annoys me when you have certain brands constantly shown very obviously on the screen while they don't have anything to do with the plot or what's going on. This film on the other hand almost aimed to be a hour and a half Head & Shoulders commercial and I found this approach quite amusing.

Head & Shoulders didn't pay them. And the ending advertisement was clearly satirical. (And thrown together last minute when the original ending bombed at test screenings)

The reason your concern is not valid is because of the established extreme product positioning with this element needed to kill the aliens.
